ASAP – Ongoing
Number of Providers Needed: 2
Facility Bed Size: 133
Level III NICU
Shifts are 24hours (in house 8a-4p; call from hotel 4p-8a)
Shift Coverage Model: 1 MD (in house while NNP is not) following by call from home/hotel
1 NNP (in house for 16 hours at night)
MD in house hours 8a-4p; NNO hours in house 4p-8a
9-bed NICU, 20-bed newborn nursery
900 annual deliveries
Average Daily Census: NICU 2-3; Newborns 5-8
C-section rate: Approx 30%
EMR, Charting: Meditech and PremiEHR
Shift Responsibilities and Procedures: Rounds in NICU/newborns, admissions/discharges, and attendance emergency C-sections (when NNP is not present)
Daily Patient Load: Approx 5-7 total between NICU and Newborn nursery
Board Certified – Required
Active VA License – Required  
NRP – Required
