Locums – Springfield, Massachusetts, Emergency Medicine Opening

Clinical Role:                                            
Seeking multiple locum EM providers to start as soon as credentialed
Shifts and Hours: Days and Night - Focus on nights for June and come July will need day and night coverage
Dates of Coverage: June 2025 – Ongoing
Starting in June 8-10 shifts per month needed
July ongoing will be a consistent 10-12 shifts per month
Percent (%) of Total Hospital Admissions Received from ED: 15%
Percent (%) of ED Patients Admitted to the Hospital per Day: 15%
Percent (%) of ED Patients Transferred per Day: 1-2 pts per day
Total Number of Beds:  44
Annual ER Volume: 55,000
Number of ED Physicians in Group:  11 total physicians of which 5 are leaving
Fast track in ED
Fast Track Staffed APP
Percent (%) of Total ED Volume Treated by Fast Track:  40%
Locum Physician will be Required to Supervise Other Health Care Providers – APPs
Documentation System/EMR:  Epic
ED Staff Respond to House Codes
Secondary to ED emergencies, we have a response team. ED does airway on that team
Admission Orders - Hospitalists
Response Time Required for On Call Physicians: 30 minutes or less
Deliveries Sent Directly to Labor & Delivery
ED Responsible for Monitoring/Supervising Paramedics/Ambulance by Radio
Describe Referral / Transfer Protocol (Include Name of the Referral Center and Distance from your Facility):  Transfer to STF as our Hub. Communication within the ED Departments
Ambulance Response Time & Travel Referral Facility:  Within 20-30 minutes
24 Hour Availability for Radiology (CT, MRI, X-Ray)
24 Hour Availability for Laboratory
Blood Bank - Certified by AABB
24 Hour Availability for the OR
24 Hour Availability for Anesthesia
EKG Interpretations – EM docs
Provider Must be Local

Board Certified (ABEM and AOBEM) or Board Eligible with 5 years of Residency
Active MA License – Required at the time of name clear
