Locums – Grass Valley, California, Interventional Radiology Job

April 26
May 8 - 10
May 17 - June 14
Schedule/Shift times: 8a - 430pm with night call after 430p
Call: Yes, but extremely rare to receive any actual phone calls or becalled in during call period
Weekends Required 
Setting: General Acute Care Hospital (Stroke Certified, not Chest Pain Center accredited, not a Trauma Level designation)
Duties: Hospital Coverage, we have a need for a Radiologist to cover the Hospital which involves the IR needs along with Stroke CT's and other procedures/availability
Required Procedures: IR Procedures (Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy Tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, Chest Tubes, Suprapubic Catheters); CT/US Biopsies (Thyroid, Lung, Other), Barium studies, Lumbar punctures
EMR: Cerner
Support Staff: Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) Nurses and Techs; We do have a large Radiology group in Sacramento that performs overflow and after-hours reads
Reason for Coverage: Resignation of Radiologist
Admissions Per Day: 12 - 15
Patients/day: ED Daily Volume is 85 - 90 patients/day, Average Daily Inpatient/Obs Census is ~50 patients (includes ICU and OB)
Types of cases: Surgical, Medical, ICU, and OB
Based on review of the last several months of volume, we would expect the following studies interpreted per day and procedures performed per day:
TOTAL: ~50 studies/day + 5-8 procedures/day
CT’s: 15-20
XRays: 15-20
US’s: 10
MRI’s: 5
IR: 5-8 procedures
Board Certified/Board Eligible – Required
Active CA License – Required   
DEA, BLS – Required
Residency Requirements/Fellowship – Residency Required
CA Fluoroscopy required at submission
Joint and MSK scans are not required. Abdominal and Body scans would be just fine
